Bollywood’s spy action comedy Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, directed by Vir Das and Kavi Shastri, released in theaters on January 16, 2026 but failed to make a strong impact at the box office.
The film is now available for streaming on Netflix in Hindi, with English subtitles. Whether it will find a better reception on OTT remains to be seen.
The movie features Mithila Palkar and Mona Singh in key roles, alongside a cast assembled by creators Aamir Khan, Aparna Purohit, Vir Das, and Kavi Shastri.
Storyline of Happy Patel
The plot follows an abandoned infant who is taken in by two MI7 agents during a mission in India and later raised in England. Growing up as a British citizen, he struggles to live up to his parents’ legacy as spies. Though his true passion lies elsewhere, he forces himself to acquire spy skills and, by chance, ends up back in India for a major assignment.
Despite its weak theatrical run, Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos now has a second chance to connect with audiences on Netflix, blending action, comedy, and a quirky spy tale.
