Hyderabad has always played a major role in India’s theatre and movie culture. It is the heart of Tollywood, and a significant share of Telangana’s revenue comes from the film industry based in this city. Now, Hyderabad’s cinema experience is set to reach new heights with several major technological upgrades in the coming months.

Here are five big cinema upgrades to watch out for:

  • Mythri Ranga 70MM, Jeedimetla – The second Dolby Cinema screen with a massive 70×29 ft Scope screen.
  • Prasads Multiplex (Screens 3 & 4) – Upgraded to Flat 1.89:1 screens with Barco Laser projection and Dolby Atmos sound.
  • Viswanath 70MM – A 66×27 ft Scope screen equipped with 4K Laser projection and Dolby Atmos.
  • AMB Cinemas, Gachibowli – A 65×27 ft Scope screen featuring Barco HDR projection and Dolby Atmos.
  • Sudarshan 35MM – A Scope format screen powered by Barco 4K Laser and Dolby Atmos.

Apart from these, audiences are eagerly waiting for Allu Cinemas in Kokapet, which is expected to feature a Dolby Cinema screen. As mentioned above, Prasads Multiplex — one of the most loved destinations for movie lovers — is upgrading two of its screens to the Flat ratio format, promising an even better viewing experience.

With these developments, Hyderabad is all set to redefine the big-screen experience for cinema fans.
